NOVEMBER 2006
The Common Ground Blog
We began the CG Blog in an
effort to create a vibrant online social profit community; and
its been very successful with participation from our
friends and clients around the world.
"Craig, it was really great working with you the last
couple of days! Thanks for your honesty, perception,
sensitivity, expertise and advice. I feel we will be able to
make important steps forward as a result of our work with
you. Thanks again for your inspiration. And for teaching us
how to work with our passion. You lead by example!"
Deb Wolf Director,
Washington Central Friends of Education Montpelier,
VT
We hope you'll participate in our online dialogue and share
your passion, wisdom, and experience. Please use the
website to ask questions and post your thoughts, ideas, and
feedback.
Thanks for Reading!
You are reading the latest edition of the Common Ground
Email News! From time to time, we'll send you a quick email
to let you know about new resources, training events, and
special opportunities related to your work and ours. We hope
you'll relax and take a few minutes to enjoy the update.
We promise we won't fill your inbox with lots of junk mail;
just useful information to help you uncover and discover your

Greetings!
?Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow.?
I am so lucky to have the chance every month to work with
amazing people and organizations who are committed to
helping those who are in trouble, improving our communities,
and changing our world.
This month, I've been in San Francisco talking with a
foundation program officer and in Kansas City leading
workshops and meeting with a community foundation.
In Vermont, I provided technical assistance to
Community
Connections and led a fundraising workshop for 25
local
community leaders. While there, I also spent time with the
staff of the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC)
who
hired me to work in Macedonia. At the end of the month, I'll
be in Littleton and Denver interviewing staff for my project
with the Federal Employees Education and Assistance
Fund
(FEEA) and meeting with another local foundation.
Next month I'll be working and learning in New Orleans,
participating in a training with the People's Institute
and leading
a workshop at Youth Service America's Youth Youth
Service
Institute. Over the Christmas holidays, I'll be working
all over
Macedonia and I'll be back in Belgrade, Serbia.
I'm fortunate to be able to share our work with you through
this email, the blog and website, and our monthly
newsletters. I appreciate it so much when you write to share
your stories, ask for help, or tell us about a
resource you think might be of interest.
If you haven't visited our website
yet, I hope you'll take a look. When you get to our site, go
to the login area under "Members" on the left, and enter
the email address where you are receiving this; and create a
password.
After that simple step, you'll have access to dozens of fully
downloadable resources (more just added) to help you in
your
work. You'll
also be able to view our snapshots gallery; and I'll be able to
involve you directly in our cutting-edge work around
the world!
As our year begins to draw to a close and here in the
U.S. we celebrate Thanksgiving, please know how grateful I
am for the chance to work and learn with amazing
people like you. It means so much to me to share time
together. I'm looking forward to more opportunities in the
future.
